Welcome to Zia International School, where we believe in holistic education and fostering a love for learning from the very beginning. Our school offers classes from Nursery to Class 12, with a unique approach to education that includes the Montessori system in the pre-primary and some primary classes.

Montessori education is a child-centered approach that emphasizes the development of independence, creativity, and problem-solving skills. In our Montessori classes, children are encouraged to learn at their own pace and follow their interests, giving them a strong foundation for future learning. While we are planning to follow the CBSE curriculum for all the classes, this year (2023-24) we will be offering the Karnataka State Board curriculum. At our school, we believe that education is not just about academics, but also about developing values and skills that will help our students become responsible and compassionate citizens. Our teachers are dedicated to helping our students grow academically, emotionally, and socially, and we are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment where they can thrive.

Apart from teaching the normal CBSE/state board curriculum we will also parallelly run an advanced supplementary curriculum. This supplementary curriculum has been designed by our expert team in order to overcome the lacunae in the normal CBSE or state board curriculum. The details of the Supplementary Programs has been provided in the subsequent sections.

FILLING THE GAPS: SUPPLEMENTARY PROGRAMS

The ever-rising competition for admission to prestigious institutions in engineering and medical fields has led to research in pedagogy. This effort has made a paradigm shift towards training and preparation and has been continuously raising the bar of these competitive examinations. Contrarily, the insufficient State/CBSE syllabi has compounded the effort for students lacking guidance and resources. IIT-JEE and NEET mandate a sound foundation at Mathematics and Science at each level of schooling. Many students in their senior secondary level, seeking help from coaching institutions, often struggle and find themselves untrained at fundamentals to manage the preparation.  Competitive examinations are aimed at an assessment on application of concepts and fundamentals in solving challenging problems in the least amount of time and effort. Therefore, with sound concepts and fundamentals, a student should also be skilled in the subject to apply techniques and out of the ordinary methods.

SUPPLEMENTARY PROGRAMS

1.  SUMMER CAMP​

The summer camp is aimed at utilizing the summer break and engaging students in entertainment and learning. This a fifty days program that includes plenty of activities, outings, revision of Maths and Science of previous classes, and introducing new topics of upcoming classes.

  • 50 days Residential program for both, boys, and girls
  • Will include remedial classes for Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry
  • Excellent quality teachers, including from IIT
  • Sports and physical activities
  • Safe and secure environment
  • Will have sports/games tournaments and prize distribution

2. Supplementary Program in    Mathematics for – Class 1st – 5th 

The CBSE and State board curricula target only basic literacy in Mathematics. A student is required to develop skills in mastering arithmetic calculation through memorising and using the table in various mathematical problems such as multiplication, division, fraction reduction, LCM/HCF, Ratio and proportion the topics as mentioned in the infographics. The Maths-Table is key to problem solving of different kinds such as mentioned below.

  • Supplementary program will run for classes: 1-5
  • This program will supplement the normal CBSE curriculum
  • Extra emphasis will be put on Mathematics
  • Mathematics will be taught for 2 hours everyday
  • Assignments and practice sheets will be completed in the class
  • Supplementary program is optional 

3. Supplementary Program in Mathematics and Science – Class 6  – 8th

Developing skills in algebraic and trigonometrical calculations using the formula, identities and theorems in various mathematical problems is cornerstone towards building base for learning advanced Maths and Science. Therefore, it is aimed through the topics in infographic to make student imbibe the basic concept of Maths and Science for their further learning in higher class.

  • Supplementary program will run for classes 6th – 8th
  • This program will supplement the normal CBSE curriculum
  • Emphasis will be put on Mathematics and Science Subjects
  • Mathematics and Science will be taught for 3 hours every day
  • Assignments and practice sheets will be completed in the class
  • Supplementary program is optional
  • Students from Classes 6th – 8th can avail hostel facility

4. Foundation Course for NEET – Class 9 – 10th

Medical entrance exams, NEET, require a great depth of understanding of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Even after two years of rigorous preparations during PU-1/2, students lack the ability to face such exams. Therefore, preparations must start early. Keeping this in mind, we run Foundation Courses for NEET.

  • These courses will run for preparing students for NEET
  • 40 % of the syllabus of NEET will be covered in this duration
  • Emphasis will be put on Physics – Chemistry – Bilogy
  • Subjects will be taught by our in-house subject experts who have graduated from prestigious institutions such as IIT, NIT etc.
  • These subjects will be taught for 3 hours every day
  • Assignments and practice sheets will be completed in the class itself
  • Students can avail hostel facility

5. Foundation Course for IIT-JEE/CET  – Class 9 – 10th

Engineering entrance exams like IIT-JEE/CET require a great depth of understanding of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Even after two years of rigorous preparations during PU-1/2, students lack the ability to face such exams. Therefore, preparations must start early. Keeping this in mind, we will run Foundation Courses for IIT-JEE/CET.

  • These courses will run for preparing students for IIT-JEE/NEET
  • 40 % of the syllabus of IIT-JEE will be covered in this duration

6. Residential Integrated Coaching Program (RICP) for IIT- JEE/NEET/CET – Class 11 – 12th

Preparing for competitive exams like IIT-JEE and NEET requires a strong foundation in the core subjects of Science and Mathematics at the senior secondary level. Therefore, we will also run a Residential Integrated Coaching Program (RICP) for training students for IIT-JEE/NEET for 2 years. Integrating board preparation along with the IIT-JEE/NEET helps students to bridge this gap and develop the required skills and knowledge for these competitive exams. 

  • Its duration will be 2 years
  • This program will be offered at Zia International School, Bangalore
  • Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology will be taught by national-level subject experts
  • Hostel facility will be provided to all the admitted candidates
  • 24X7 supervision of students
  • Supervision of girls will be done by a female attendant
  • Candidates will be selected through ZiSAT (Zia School Assessment Test)
